9th Circuit to rehear computer hacking case

An April decision by the 9th Circuit that broadened a federal law to combat computer hacking will be reheard en banc, the court announced Thursday.

An April decision by the 9th Circuit that broadened a federal law to combat computer hacking will be reheard en banc, the court announced Thursday.

The decision to review U.S. v. Nosal, 2011 DJDAR 6000, came after a dissenting judge warned the April holding could criminalize millions of employees who use their work computers to check personal email or otherwise violate company policy.
