Judge disqualifies attorney for conflict

A federal judge has disqualified a lawyer from representing two clients suing each other in the same case.

SANTA ANA - A federal judge has disqualified a lawyer from representing two clients suing each other in the same case.

In a decision Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Josephine S. Tucker wrote that Newport Beach lawyer Mark D. Holmes had "engaged in a 'manifest and glaring' ethical breach - to gain a tactical advantage in this litigation." O A Ventures LLC v. Stoffal, 8:10-cv-1624 (CA C.D., filed Oct. 22, 2010).
