Oakland-based BrightSource Energy, Inc., recently announced its intention to build a 750 megawatt solar thermal project in Riverside County.
The project, "Rio Mesa," will consist of three 250 megawatt, solar-thermal plants. The company submitted an application for certification to the California Energy Commission on Oct. 14.
