Jurist Refuses Delay of Avila Case

SANTA ANA - An Orange County judge Monday denied a defense request to postpone the preliminary hearing for the man accused of sexually assaulting and killing 5-year-old Samantha Runnion, ruling Alejandro Avila's lawyers have had ample time to analyze DNA evidence allegedly linking Avila to the crime.
