Boalt Dean Quits After Harassment Charge

SAN FRANCISCO - The dean of the Boalt Hall School of Law has resigned after a former student accused him of sexual harassment. John P. Dwyer announced his resignation Wednesday in a letter addressed to the "Boalt Community" and placed in students' lockers. The letter describes a single, consensual "encounter" with a student two years ago. Dwyer wrote that he never taught the woman and that she never alleged that they had sexual intercourse.
