Panel Reverses Battered Woman's Conviction

LOS ANGELES - A federal appellate panel Monday reversed an Oceanside battered woman's second-degree murder conviction, saying a San Diego judge improperly gutted her defense that she irrationally feared for her life when she shot her husband to death.
