LAPD Settles Suit With Deaf Man

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Police Department has agreed to provide sign-language interpreters for deaf witnesses, victims and suspects to settle a class action filed on behalf of a 72-year-old deaf man injured when police misinterpreted his signing as aggression, the Western Law Center for Disability Rights announced Thursday.
