Suit Says County Gave Away $85 Million
Los Angeles County taxpayers have just lost $85 million, according to Beverly Hills attorney Richard I. Fine. Fine has filed a taxpayer complaint against the county Board of Supervisors, alleging that the board violated state law by giving a Marina del Rey property owner a 20-year lease extension for only $2.1 million, when another 18 years of the lease had been worth $87 million.
