National League edges out American League in lawyers' all-star games
National League all-star teams bested their American League counterparts in a pair of games during the Landau Lawyers League's eighth annual spring/summer all-star games. In the coed category, the National League team beat the American League 16-12, with MVP Jason Vaughan, playing for Winston & Strawn, nailing a grand slam. Terry Hickson of Sheppard Mullin hit two home runs, and Alex Lopez of Wood Smith knocked in another home run. The National League team eked out an 8-7 victory in the men's A/B category, as well, with MVP Jason Vaughan, this time playing for O'Melveny & Myers, again hitting one over the fence. The game's other home run hitters were Dorian Jackson of Loeb & Loeb, Jose "Lucho" Valdez of King Holmes and Andrew Cohen of Lewis Brisbois. — Ben Adlin
