Study: Securities class action filings for first half of this year are down

The country's relative economic stability and rising stock market may be good for many investors, but it's bad news for securities class action filings.

The country's relative economic stability and rising stock market may be good for many investors, but it's bad news for securities class action filings.


A report, released Wednesday by Cornerstone Research and Stanford Law School, shows that only 74 class actions were filed in the first half of this year compared with 88 in the first half of 2012.
