Texas firm unlawfully practicing law in California, complaint says

The firm has been collecting money on behalf of Los Angeles and San Francisco, along with other entities of the state government, without employing any attorneys who are admitted the California bar, a class action complaint alleges.

A Texas law firm that employs no active members of the California bar has been illegally collecting debts on behalf of the city of Los Angeles, the city and county of San Francisco and the California State Franchise Tax Board, alleges a class action lawsuit filed last week.
