A memorial session for the late Chief Judge Emeritus James R. Browning of the 9th Circuit is set for Friday in San Francisco at the federal courthouse named in his honor, the circuit announced Monday.
The influential Browning, who died May 6 at age 93, was appointed by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 and served on the bench for more than 50 years. Chief Judge Alex Kozinski will preside. Also speaking: former Browning clerks...
