Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is the latest firm to sue the city and county of San Francisco for its alleged improper tax on profits paid to law firm partners.
Filed Thursday in San Francisco County Superior Court, the complaint alleges a 2008 voter initiative called Proposition Q, which taxes limited liability partnerships, is flawed. Orrick demands a little more than $610,000 the firm paid in payroll taxes in 2010.<...
