Governor Makes History With Latest Judicial Appointments
Gov. Gray Davis made history last week with his latest round of judicial appointments to the Los Angeles Superior Court bench. On Aug. 13, Davis appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacqueline H. Nguyen to the bench. She is the first Vietnamese-American woman appointed as a trial or appellate court judge. Three days later, he chose Deputy Attorney General Tammy Chung Ryu to sit as a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
