Retired Alameda County Superior Court Judge Benjamin Travis, a co-founder of the California Association of Black Lawyers and a driving force in the African-American legal community, has died. He was 79.
Travis died May 2 at Summit Hospital in Oakland after a two-year battle with cancer.
