Thomas G. Nelson, a senior judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, died Wednesday at his home in Boise, Idaho at the age of 74.
Nelson's health had been declining, court officials said in an announcement Friday. He took senior status in 2003 but continued to hear cases through 2009.
