Oakland City Attorney John A. Russo announced Wednesday that he is leaving his position June 13 to become the city manager for Alameda. When Russo leaves, the Oakland City Council will have 60 days to appoint a replacement to finish his term, which ends in December 2012. If the council does not act, a special election must be held within 120 days to fill the spot. Russo was first elected city attorney in 2000....
