Legalized Gambling Can Solve California's Fiscal, Environmental Problems

Both the Golden State's swelling budget deficit and the abundance of greenhouse gas emissions caused by commutes from Southern California to Las Vegas could be eliminated if the state decided to legalize gaming.

California's voters and legislators are an idealistic and moral group. In 1984, Californians passed Proposition 37, which amended the state constitution to prohibit the legalization of casino gambling.
