Paperwork Delays Start of New Bankruptcy Court Program

LOS ANGELES - Katherine Isaac's day can be measured in inches of paper and cans of diet Coke. The case initiation clerk for the Los Angeles-area bankruptcy courts thought she might rest this week. She spent the week before living off soft drinks and working evenings and weekends through the crush of filings before the stricter Chapter 7 law took effect Monday.
