Bill May Protect Trademark Too Well, Risk Free Speech
Focus Column - By David Halberstadter - With little fanfare, a new piece of federal legislation is working its way through Congress. Known as the Trademark Dilution Revision Act of 2005, or HR683, the proposed law would amend the existing Federal Trademark Dilution Act, 15 U.S.C. Section 1125(c), in the wake of a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision interpreting the law.
