Attorney Contends Indictment Is Retaliation for Earlier Client
LOS ANGELES - Responding to the three-count indictment of Joseph G. Cavallo for allegedly taking part in a bail bonds referral scheme, his lawyer contended Friday that authorities were attempting to retaliate for the brash Orange County attorney's defense of a former sheriff's official who was fired last year.
