S.D. OKs Domestic Partner Benefits

The San Diego City Council unanimously approved an ordinance on Monday ensuring that city contractors provide domestic partners of employees the same benefits provided to spouses.

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego City Council unanimously approved an ordinance on Monday ensuring that city contractors provide domestic partners of employees the same benefits provided to spouses.

The ordinance, which will apply only to contractors who already offer benefits to married employees, will take effect Jan. 1, 2011.
