PALO ALTO - Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has been tapped to advise Scotts Valley-based computer disk drive manufacturer Seagate Technology PLC on a possible buyout by private equity firms.

Larry Sonsini, the firm's Palo Alto-based chairman, and San Francisco-based partner Michael Ringler are leading the team.
