Forum Column - By Harold Johnson - One of the low points on the California legal scene in 2003 was the blow dealt the Boy Scouts of America by a suit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union. In Barnes-Wallace v. Boy Scouts of America, 275 F.Supp.2d 1259 (S.D. Cal. July 31, 2003), U.S. District Judge Napoleon A. Jones Jr. voided the Scouts' longtime, low-cost lease of acreage in San Diego's beautiful Balboa Park.
