Fixed-Workweek Rule Costs State's Employers Millions

Forum Column - By Steven B. Katz - The Division of Labor Standards Enforcement has pulled the rug out from under practitioners' feet by removing its enforcement manual from public purview. The agency was responding to the governor's executive order directing all state agencies to review all pending regulations. The agency should use the order as an opportunity to revise the "fixed workweek rule," which costs state employers millions in duplicative overtime back pay.
