LOS ANGELES - A former defense attorney for Phil Spector will avoid jail for now after the California Supreme Court late Wednesday stayed her contempt-of-court sentence.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler held Sara Caplan in contempt June 18 after she refused to testify about potential missing evidence in the record producer's music trial.
