Lawyer Pleads Not Guilty to Theft, Tax Charges
SANTA ANA - A suspended Orange County attorney pleaded not guilty Wednesday to 25 felony counts of theft, forgery and tax evasion. Eric St. John, 54, stole $641,982 from three clients and failed to pay $102,911 in state taxes, prosecutors said. In 2003, he was suspended by the State Bar for misappropriating clients' money. That investigation led to his criminal case, Deputy District Attorney Ken Chinn said.
