Jurists Urge Caution on Sentencing-Law Change

WASHINGTON - Amid widespread uncertainty over a recent Supreme Court decision that cast doubt on the constitutionality of the federal sentencing guidelines, federal judges and sentencing experts appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday and urged lawmakers to proceed slowly when considering changes to federal sentencing law.
