Legal Aid Society of San Mateo Recognizes Community Law Leaders
Four legal leaders received honors from the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County at the organization's 14th annual awards luncheon on April 21 at the Four Seasons Hotel in East Palo Alto. The winners included: Intel Corp. and Baker McKenzie LLP for their joint creation of a pro bono model that protects the rights of special education children in community schools; Craig McCulloch of San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services for his 17-year commitment to protecting seniors' rights; and Niki Okcu of Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy LLP for her dedication to restoring an 89 year-old woman to her home after she nearly lost it as a result of a con man. Retired Justice Carlos R. Moreno delivered the keynote speech.
