Northern District Chief Judge James Ware was thrust into the debate Wednesday over whether his predecessor can show video of the Proposition 8 trial in his lectures.


Proponents of the voter-approved measure to ban same-sex marriage had asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this month to block former Judge Vaughn Walker from showing video of the January 2010 trial he presided over.
