Contamination Claims Against Shell Tossed

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge dismissed a high-profile contamination lawsuit against Shell Oil Co. and developer, citing faulty pleadings and statute of limitations.

LOS ANGELES - An environmental lawsuit against Shell Oil Co. and a housing developer over allegations that oil contamination wreaked havoc on a local community has been dismissed by a state court judge.


The lawsuit on behalf of roughly 1,800 Carson residents alleged they suffered health problems and property damage from living on the contaminated site of a former oil storage facility.
