Endo Plans to Buy Medical Company

Pennsylvania-based Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc. announced Monday plans to buy American Medical Systems Inc. for $2.9 billion in cash.

Pennsylvania-based Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc. announced Monday plans to buy American Medical Systems Inc. for $2.9 billion in cash.


Minnesota-based American Medical Systems will receive $30 per share, a 34 percent premium over Friday's close.


This is Endo's third deal in a year after buying Texas-based Healthtronics Inc. and Alabama-based Qualitest.
