Liu Clears Committee Again

The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the UC Berkeley School of Law professor Goodwin Liu's nomination to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on a strict party-line vote for the third time Thursday.

WASHINGTON - After an hour of speechifying Thursday on Goodwin Liu's fitness to join the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved the UC Berkeley School of Law professor's nomination along strict party lines for the third time.


Although Sen. Tom Coburn voted against Liu, the Oklahoma Republican said, "I think ultimately he will get confirmed."
