In an after-the-bell deal on Monday, Texas Instruments Inc. announced its acquisition of Santa Clara-based National Semiconductor Corp for $6.5 billion.
The deal between the two industry leaders in analog semiconductors is expected to close within six months to nine months. Last year, the market for analog semiconductors was $42 billion.
