Conference Focuses on Usage of Colorado River

TUCSON, Ariz. - Southern California had better get its act together soon on reducing its dependence on the Colorado River. If it doesn't, the other six Western states - not to mention Mexico and several Indian tribes - that also draw water from the river and its many tributaries will force the region to do so, said speakers at a recent law conference here that centered on legal issues surrounding the Colorado River.
