Davis Ponders Hufstedler for Prop. 187 Role
SACRAMENTO - Gov. Gray Davis reportedly has proposed to retain former federal appeals court judge Shirley Hufstedler as his counsel during federal mediation aimed at resolving the legal controversy over Proposition 187, the 1994 ballot initiative that limited state benefits to illegal aliens.
