Securities Class Actions Clog Courts, Panelists Say
SAN FRANCISCO - The explosion of securities litigation has produced a backlog of 500 federal shareholder actions since 1995, worth an estimated $4 billion in potential settlements and $1.2 billion in plaintiffs' attorney fees, according to a Stanford University law professor who tracks the cases.
