Leader of Legal Aid Foundation Welcomes Planned LSC Audit

WASHINGTON - The U.S. General Accounting Office, responding to a request from powerful congressional opponents of the Legal Services Corporation, announced Wednesday that the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles is one of 20 LSC-funded programs nationwide it plans to audit over the next few months to determine how and to what extent LSC overreported to Congress the number of cases it handled in 1997.
