Judge Refuses to Expand Online Broker Suit

SAN JOSE - In a potentially important legal victory for online brokerages, a Santa Clara County judge has denied a request by plaintiffs in a lawsuit against E*Trade Group Inc. to be certified as a class because he said the inquiry would require a months-long examination of millions of stock trades.
