Hoechst Will Pay $36 Million on Charges It Fixed Sorbates Prices
The German chemical firm Hoechst AG has agreed to pay a $36 million fine and plead guilty to a 17-year conspiracy to fix the price of sorbates, a food preservative, in what the Justice Department called one of the longest-running price-fixing conspiracies.
