Senate confirms judge for the Central District

The Senate confirmed white-collar defense lawyer Michael W. Fitzgerald to be a federal judge in Los Angeles on a 91-6 vote Thursday.

The Senate confirmed white-collar defense lawyer Michael W. Fitzgerald to be a federal judge in Los Angeles on a 91-6 vote Thursday.Fitzgerald, a former federal prosecutor practicing at Corbin, Fitzgerald & Athey LLP in Los Angeles, will become the first openly gay federal judge in California.
