LETTERS TO THE EDITOR COLUMN

I want to thank the Daily Journal and its dedicated reporters for their outstanding coverage of the trial court budget crisis. Their efforts have led to a growing public awareness that we are a third branch of the government, that our justice system is teetering on the brink of dysfunction, and that there can be no true democracy (and no economic recovery) without a fully functioning court system.
