M. Katherine Baird Darmer

Chapman University School of Law Professor M. Katherine Baird Darmer, a prominent activist for same-sex marriage and against the use of torture in the war on terror, has died. She was 47.

SANTA ANA - Chapman University School of Law Professor M. Katherine Baird Darmer, a prominent activist for same-sex marriage and against the use of torture in the war on terror, has died. She was 47.


Darmer died Friday afternoon from injuries suffered in a fall from a parking structure in Irvine. Her death has been classified as a suicide, a spokesman for the coroner said Tuesday.
