Sony, Following Court's Suggestion, Files PlayStation Patent

SAN FRANCISCO - In last week's groundbreaking decision expanding the "fair use" doctrine to permit some use of copyrighted material, the federal appeals court suggested Sony Computer should have filed a patent - not a copyright - claim to protect its popular PlayStation game machine.
