Beyond the Border

SEATTLE - Years ago, Spokane lawyer Pat Stiley was told by a concerned friend that he was "spending too much damn time in the office." Instead of blithely dismissing it as one more "workaholic" comment by someone who didn't understand the demands of the profession, Stiley took it to heart. He bought a fax machine, a cell phone, and started handling business "on the ski slopes between slalom races."
