O.C. Bankruptcy Officer Earns $10M, Firm 'Pleased'

SANTA ANA - He denied granting a bonus to the law firm that won Orange County $865 million in bankruptcy settlements, but Thomas Hayes, the county's court-appointed officer in its bankruptcy, stands to earn nearly $10 million because of the firm's success, a lawyer for the county's investors acknowledged Wednesday.
