EFF, Durie Tangri Win Copyright Case
A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday a man can sell promotional CDs he bought from secondhand stores on eBay without running afoul of the law.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed U.S. District Judge James Otero's order dismissing Universal Music Group's copyright infringement claims, supporting arguments by attorneys with the Electronic Frontier Foundation and San Francisco-based Durie Tangri in favor of their client, Troy Augusto.
