Supervisors Tap Public Defender as Interim County Counsel

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint a top manager from the county public defender's office as their interim legal adviser.

LOS ANGELES - The county board of supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint a top manager from the county public defender's office as their interim legal adviser.

Chief Deputy Public Defender Robert E. Kalunian will serve as acting Los Angeles County Counsel, pending a wider search to replace Raymond G. Fortner Jr. who recently retired.
