The state Supreme Court has appointed Catherine D. Purcell as the new presiding judge of the State Bar Court, the special bench that handles attorney discipline matters.
Purcell, who has been a member of the bar court's review department since 2008, replaces JoAnn Marie Remke in the presiding post. Gov. Jerry Brown named Remke to lead the Fair Political Practices Commission in April. <...
