The state Supreme Court will give guidance today on whether proponents of Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage, have standing to challenge a federal judge's ruling against the ballot measure.
At oral argument in September, the justices seemed unlikely to stand in the way of the challenge, which will ultimately play out at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and possibly go to the U.S. Supreme Court.
